My name is Phil Kurtz and I am the 2020 Libertarian Candidate for the US House Texas CD29. I came to Texas in 1981 from Detroit MI, with a suitcase, a cooler and my newlywed wife. I still have the wife!
I saw what progressive politics did to the once great manufacturing center of the Midwest, and I fear that this could happen to Houston as well, as long as progressive career politicians continue to hold so many seats in Congress. I love Houston and Texas and that is why I have decided to run for office in 2020.
I am a Katy TX. resident. Happily married for 41 years, Two Children, and Four Grandchildren. I enjoy the support of my family in my political life. My wife, daughter and son are all successful in their respective fields and have become my sounding board when discussing the issues that challenge America.
My business background is 30+ years in Business Development and Sales in the specialty chemical business. After being downsized in 2011, I continued to consult for companies that specialized in industrial equipment distribution and oil field and refinery maintenance and refurbishing. I hold an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. Currently, I am semi retired and support myself and family through investments.
In 2018 I was the Conservative Libertarian Candidate for US House TX-09. I came in second of four candidates in that bid for the House, loosing to Al Green (D).
Additionally I was a 5-time Candidate for Texas State office of Senator or House of Representatives, running as a Libertarian every two years since 2006.
I would love to have your support in 2020.
